The UK Royal Air Force (RAF) flew over London, England on Friday, May 8, as Britain marked 75 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe.
The flypasts took place in other UK capital cities - Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff - despite the COVID-19 pandemic causing changes to how people are able to mark the day, also known as VE Day. While no street parties and other group celebrations will take place, people still commemorated the day with two minutes of silence.
